Dental implants have become an important part of modern dentistry. An implant fixture is inserted into the jaw bone to provide a base for supporting and attaching the prosthesis. Implants are made of various materials, mainly titanium which is widely compatible.
Implants help replace one or more missing teeth and prevent bone loss in the jaw. They're firmly secured into the jaw bone and, unlike bridges, don't require the cutting and shaping of adjacent teeth.
Implants can last for many years if a good oral hygiene routine is followed, such as brushing, flossing, and regular check-ups.
IMPLANT PLACEMENT

Before implant placement, our highly qualified dentist will thoroughly assess your mouth and medical history to determine whether implants are the best option and, if so, what type.
Dental implant procedures are generally performed under local anaesthesia. The dentist will prepare the underlying gum to expose the underlying bone. A special drill prepares a hole in the jawbone to accept the implant. The implant screw is then gently placed into the prepared site, and the gum is stitched and closed to allow healing and integration. This can take 3-6 months.
Once the implant has integrated and attached to the bone, the abutment is fitted. This is a support structure for further restoration on the implant to support either a crown or denture.

We've developed a regular implant maintenance schedule for all of our patients. This includes regular check-ups with our dentist who will take X-rays at intervals to ensure your implants are stable and bone levels are healthy.
Our oral health hygienist will provide the right tools and techniques to keep your implant clean at home between appointments.
Implant hygiene is a life-time commitment for the patient and the dentist but is necessary for your implant's success and good oral health.
